Holme Grove Goldcard - South African National Equestrian Dressage Championship Qualifier -17th May 2004

Hi All,

Just a quick update.  Goldcard was in the first round of the South African National Equestrian Federation Dressage Champs qualifiers yesterday at The Horse Society, Kyalami Park, Johannesburg ridden by Maude Aarts. I think this was his 3rd ever Elementary level tests. He rode our Elementary 6 & 7 and won both with 75.15% and 71.17% setting the pace being the first horse in at 0800 out of a class of approximately 32. He now advances to the next round this Saturday and all being well, the finals on Sunday. He received a 9 for his overall paces and a 9 for his walk. He continues to grow his fan club with a certain group of ladies that follow him from show to show. We continue to get regular enquiries with regard to his breeding plans. Interesting times ahead.

Making plans to see you all at the open day.

Best wishes as always

Latest on the boy.

I think John updated you on the SANEF qualifiers last week. If not, it is a National competition where the judges travel to each province and judge each team of two at each level and eventually we have a provincial winner and a national winner.

Goldcard was chosen for our team at adult elementary level and he competed today.

Unfortunately he had a mild dose of colic on Tuesday and so was not at his best but he still won and at the moment is leading the board at 69.71% with one more province to be judged. Bless him he tried but he was a bit flat, understandably.

We have some super pictures of his qualifiers which I will try to send. Hope you like them.

Love

Sue
